FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does it cost?

We have a $400 design fee for wedding invites and $200 design fee for Save the Dates, but the rest depends on the quantity of your order and the complexity of your assembly. For example, a simple invitation suite containing 50 one-color invites, envelopes, RSVP cards and envelopes is much different than a creative assembly of multi-colored papers, multiple inks and custom enclosures. Typically our invitation packages range safely between $1,400 and $7,000, so keep that in mind when budgeting for your invitations. For more information about pricing and costs, check out our pricing page. To get a personalized estimate for your invites, contact us so we can schedule an appointment to hear about your event and to learn more about your needs.

How long does it take?

Our design time takes between 2-4 weeks, with printing and assembling taking between 2-4 weeks, depending on the size and scope of the job. Normally, jobs can take anywhere between 2 and 3 months, but be sure to contact us in advance since our availability is limited.

I'm a graphic designer. Can you print something I've designed?

Although we love seeing what other people are up to (and willing to experiment with) in letterpress, we only print our own design work. May we recommend a friend of ours who does fantastic work?

Will my invitations come assembled?

We are happy to assemble any invitation suite (even if it means just affixing your stamps for you) for a base price of $200, based on the quantity of your order and the complexity of your assembly.

If we've created an invitation suite for you that is rather extensive in the department of assembly and production - for example an invitation suite that involves irregular-sized papers, folding, scoring, fabulous enclosures, die cut pieces, belly bands, ribbons, tags, exact placement of certain objects, or other proceedures that would require the fastidious attention of an OCD paper specialist to handle, we will build your assembly fee into your estimate.

If your invites are rather straight-forward, (for example, a simple flat card invite with envelope and RSVPs) we will send you your invites unassembled and packed with care in wooden crates (see our shipping page for more info about the packing process).

If all of the pieces to my suite are a 1-color print, can they each be a different color?

At the time of your estimate, we will give you a menu of options that will enable you to pick and choose the options of your invitations, such as the paper stock and the amount of colors to be printed per-piece. If all of your pieces are specified to be printed 1 color, and you would like each piece to be printed in a different color, we charge a $25 ink-changing fee.

I saw this neat design on another website. Can you design something like that?

It's great that you're looking around at websites - we are eager to see images you've collected that give you ideas and inspire you! We aim to please and want you to be three million percent satisfied with your invites, but keep in mind that we respect the ideas and designs that other artists have taken the time to create and therefore can only take your suggestions into consideration. As part of the creative community of makers, we've taken a silent oath for respecting the rights and property of others. It doesn't mean we don't want to see images that you've collected - we are psyched to see them! - we just can't directly copy a design that someone else has already made. Similarly, we hope that other designers respect this code of conduct and not copy our ideas! See what a happy world we live in if people didn't steal?! Full of love and respect. Sigh. How nice.

Do you work with clients who live outside the US?

Yes! It is no problem at all to work with non-US clients. Sure, shipping may cost a little more, but we are happy to work with anyone who appreiciates our work.
